  • I want to uninstall this plugin.
Uninstall this plugin from WordPress Plug-ins. And deleted Wordfence WAF block of .htaccess file. Delete tables starting with MySQL ‘wf’. Is there any other file changed by Wordfence other than that?

When I started using this plugin I registered my email address in Wordfence. Please tell me how to delete this e-mail address registration.

  • Hi ZuGon,
I hope this is a temporary decision, let me know if there is anything I could help with, to completely uninstall the plugin please follow these steps:

    – Delete “wordfence” directory from (/wp-content/plugins/)
    – Delete “wflogs” directory from (/wp-content/)
    – Check either “.htaccess” file or “.user.ini” -depending on your server configuration- and remove any code snippets wrapped by # Wordfence WAF and # END Wordfence WAF.
    – Remove “wordfence-waf.php” file from your website root directory.
    – Drop Wordfence database tables using any database management tool like phpMyAdmin for example. (these tables starts with wf for example wp_wfHoover, wp_wfIssues, wp_wfKnownFileList, etc…).
    – The email address added in Wordfence settings will get removed when you drop the tables from the database, however, if you were subscribed to our newsletter you can click on the “Unsubscribe” link in email footer.

    Thanks.

I need to delete wordfence and these instructions are complicated. Is there a plugin that’ll run through this multi-step process?

    Hi Von,

You can alternatively follow these steps:

    – Install “Wordfence Assistant” plugin.
    – Click on “Disable Wordfence Firewall” button to remove the firewall related files/entries in “.htaccess”/.user.ini file.
    – Click on “Remove all Wordfence Data in the Database and elsewhere”.
    – Connect to your website via SFTP/FTP to delete the plugin folder from (/wp-content/plugins/) directory.

    Thanks.
